Here's Why I Don’t Give Advice as a Coach
It’s not what you think.
Sometimes people are surprised to hear that I don’t give advice to clients as a coach. If this is you, let me explain.
I believe that:
1. You are the expert in your own life.
2. It is more empowering for you to be in control of your choices rather have me tell you what you should do. Even if it’s hard, and even if you doubt yourself.
3. I am not your superior and I don’t claim to know what you ‘should’ do anyway!
And ultimately, I want you to feel empowered to make the final call about the actions you take.
Being a teacher, I do love to share coaching concepts and ideas that may be relevant/helpful, but I don’t offer them in a directive way.
If you’re looking for advice, you might look to a consultant.
But if you choose to work with me as your coach, expect a journey through self questioning and exploration. You’ll be invited to explore beyond what you previously thought possible.
